Make Google Love Your Blog in The After Panda Era

The Google Panda left many webmasters surprised. While we may not actually understand all the factors that Google has to consider before each update, we are sure that Google is trying to deliver quality and satisfactory results to users. It takes knowing the basics of Google Ranking procedures to retain and improve the ranking of your website despite whatever changes are going on in the Google Ranking Algorithm. This is what I call making Google to love your blog! How do you do this?

Produce Unique Quality Content

In internet business, you can’t see the person you are marketing, you don’t know what (s)he looks like and you can’t tell when (s)he starts to disapprove what you are saying. Many of us think that using unique quality content is only to the interest of Google and other search bots, but that is not true. Unique quality content is your weapon; what you will use to convince and make a sale. Produce unique quality content and everybody will be your friend; Google and web surfers alike.

Optimize Your Website URL

Your website URL must be structured with the keyword you are targeting and with other words relevant to what you are offering in the site. For instance, if your website is built on blogging tips, the truth is that bloggintips.com will rank higher in the search engines than stevenpapas.com, for the keyword “blogging tips”. Although this method is not the absolute way to rank higher for a particular keyword, the right domain name helps you climb up the rankings. However, it is also advised that you narrow your site or blog down and target a specific area in blogging tips, like blog traffic tips or SEO tips, etc.

Be Consistent

The frequency with which you make posts to your website or blog matters a lot. Google is always looking for fresh content and the latest tip in any niche. The category of content you should focus on includes text, audio and video tips targeted to your niche market. You can decide to write one post everyday or 2 to 3 times a week. If you can’t write daily, at least write regularly.

Optimize Your Articles

Make sure that you include the keywords you are targeting in all the articles posted on your blog or website. The keyword should be in the article title and it should also appear in the article body as well as in the last paragraph. It’s important to have titles which are a keyword phrase people type in Google. For example, no one is going to search for “6 things I hate about blogging” or “Why Hitler would fail as a blogger”. However, the phrase “monetize my blog using Adsense” is more likely to be search in Google and your post will be the first to appear in the results.

Social Media Marketing And Effective Backlinks

Quality backlinks is the most substantial factor which Google bots respect. This is the key to getting massive authority with Google. Write unique, keyword targeted posts and offer them to quality blogs as guest posts along with the proper backlinks inside. However, submitting an article in hundreds of article directories with the purpose of gathering backlings, is not the right way to promote your blog in the eyes of Google. That’s why we say that article marketing is dead. Of course we mean the article marketing which is done exclusively through directorie. And that’s true. Cheap promotion methods give cheap results – if none.

From the experience I acquired from my website where I give software reviews and coupons, I see that quality backlinking combined with the right niche, is highly appreciated and awarded by the search engines. The result is to get the right visitors to your blog. After all, not any traffic is the right traffic, right?

Also, make your social presence strong. As Matt Cutts from Google says, sites like Facebook and Twitter, can influence the rankings of blogs. Also, include social bookmarking plug-ins in your blog so that readers can easily share your contents with fellow readers and bloggers.

Have A Page To Review Top Products, People And Companies

If you look around you will understand that there are certain products, personalities and even companies that people like to hear about in your niche; what they are doing and what they may be up to. Pay special attention to product launches. If you have a good readership community this could make you a few hundred bucks or even thousands when the review is monetized.

Have News And Events Page

Any post on news and events always gets the attention of people and even the attention of Google bots. We all want to know the current event in that niche!

Use A Functional Website

Your website must be pleasant to view, navigate easily and should be easy to load. Google wants an effective and functional result and your site is far from meeting these criteria if it has a disgusting view and takes way much time to load.

Be Patience

There is no way you can wake up one day and see your site at #1 of Google. It is always the cumulative result of a consistent effort. You therefore have to continue posting unique quality contents, share and build backlinks and your success is assured with Google.

Steven,
I love where you say “cheap promotion methods give cheap results” because so often you get exactly what you pay for! Getting a good ranking with the search engines does take some hard work and patience. In fact, we may have to constantly be learning since Google and other search engines are constantly changing their criteria. The upside is this will separate the fly-by-night bloggers from those willing to work at it.

There is a need for Google to make sure that what a user looks for, they get. For years people just stuffed their keywords with whatever they felt would drive traffic to their sites – names of celebrities, hot topics, products they didn’t sell. There was a time when it was so easy to find what you were looking for on-line, it was a golden age. Then came all the irrelevant material as everyone wanted to make a buck. The internet should be a place where you can easily and quickly find what you are looking for, without wadding through a bunch of meaningless garbage that has nothing to do with anything. Though the Panda update creates more work, I think it is for the best when it comes to relevant content – it will make a better internet with a better user experience. I think that those complaining loudest are the ones that Panda wants to address most. People, companies, whatever…need to take the time to make sure that a users needs are met. If you optimize your page correctly and have relevant content related to the searches that got people to you page in the first place, you have nothing to worry about. If you want to have a bunch of irrelevant keywords driving traffic to your site you are only going to annoy people. Use organic seo services if you want your site’s traffic to grow. It will take time and patience, but if you stick within Google’s guidelines, you will see results – not overnight, but they will come. Trying to stay one step ahead of Google by unsavory means will only get your site blacklisted. Google is also encouraging people to report nefarious activity. If your page has value, it will do well.

Hi.
I would not worry about keywords in the URL too much. It will help, but don’t worry about it if you do not have that. Just have some keywords in the title and at least 1 or 2 times in the text and you will be OK.
Another tip is to try to brand your website. Have a cool logo and try to make people to remember your site so they start searching for it along with their queries. I am sure this helps Google find the higher quality websites.
Also try to reduce the bounce rate and increase the time spent on your site.
Regards and may the Panda love you 😉
