Now I know for a fact that by putting this post together it’s going to annoy a lot of people, there are a lot of hardcore fans out there and I have to say, I used to be one of them. But seriously I am really bored of companies just sending out the same old rubbish year in, year out and expecting people to buy it. So without further ado, here are my thoughts on the new Call Of Duty Black Ops.
If I am being honest with you, I don’t think I have really sat down and enjoyed a Call of Duty game since the first Modern Warfare, it was a welcome break from WW2, something that has been milked a little too much in gaming.
Then of course came the step back with yet another WW2 game but this time put the gamer in charge of fighting against the Japanese (although there was still a Russian campaign in which you fought the Nazis). This game was at best another okay WW2 game and to be honest with you I am now getting bored of modern shooters too.
Having spoken to a number of people in the office the opinion is that this game is really not much different from the Modern Warfare games and to me this is just not good enough, I do not want to fork out over £40 for a game that I have pretty much played before. Thank goodness I only gave this one a rent!
This is the very first COD game that I have not rushed out to buy and I was even at the midnight launch of Modern Warfare 2 (mainly to pick up my limited edition Elite Xbox 360). I still enjoyed the second Modern Warfare but again felt there wasn’t enough content to warrant another game.
This time they have just taken it too far and despite some review sites given the game 10/10 or 100% I am just not feeling the love from this COD game and I think it has just proven one thing to me; my time with the series has come to an end. You might think that I am alone in saying this but there have been a lot of people that have almost felt cheated out of their money from this game, after all with the same graphics (pretty much) and just a couple of items added to the multiplayer offering, who can blame them!
What do you guys think of the new COD game, is it a waste of time or a worthy investment?
