Ryan is our resident gamer and is looking to the upcoming homefront video game.
As I said in a previous post it would seem the early part of the year is usually a quiet time for the gaming industry but with more competition heating up and the demand for more and more games during the quieter times of the year there are a number of games coming out in March 2011 that you should look at buying.
This game seems to have come from nowhere and has received a surprisingly large amount of interest over the last few weeks. The back story (2027) is that over the past few years the USA has fallen as a superpower with an increase in civil disputes over oil and even a few states leaving the country to go independent. With North Korea gaining more and more power whilst the US sinks downwards they head to the US to take over, the game continues from here.
This is certainly a game I would recommend looking into for next month and comes with an immersive single player along with multiplayer fit with vehicles and drones!
This is the one that is getting all of the hype at the moment but will this game truly lead up to its expectations? Crytek are boasting the best AI any game has ever seen along with some of the best graphics you will see this generation and of course the best current graphics on the PC too. They are being a bit confident in their statements but if you watch the above video you have to admit the graphics are simply astounding. Graphics aren’t everything though and having played the multiplayer demo it seemed not only graphically impressive but game play was terrific too.
The single player is where it is at with Crysis and it looks to be worth buying just for the single player experience.
Pokémon Black & White
This is going to be a huge release for the DS next month and will build up nicely to the launch of the 3DS. The new Pokémon game (s) boost better graphics, an improved battle system and 150 new Pokemon added to the mix. If you are a long time fan of the series like myself then this is certainly something that cannot be missed out on.
3DS + Games
Of course the big release for March is going to be the 3DS and if you haven’t pre-ordered one yet then you need to look into it because they are going to be huge and they are likely to be in short demand and you want to avoid disappointment. Remember that that the key selling point to the 3DS is the glasses free 3D gaming.
Have you got any other titles you think deserve a mention for March? Let me know in the comments below.
